MDRC Center for Data Insights

Yu is a data visualization associate at MDRC’s Center for Data Insights and a quantitative researcher with more than 10 years of experience in digital design. At MDRC, Yu specializes in project management, technical capacity building, quantitative research, and creation of data visualizations. She currently serves as a data manager for an evaluation of the Google Career Certificates Fund, which aims to produce earnings gains for over 20,000 learners in the technology sector over the next decade.  She is also engaged in expanding the MDRC team’s capabilities in using enhanced data visualization methods. Her past projects at MDRC have spanned the areas of employment, housing policy, and community development and included the development of an interactive social network analysis primer for the MDRC website. Before joining MDRC, Yu worked in digital content strategy at Travel + Leisure and Food & Wine magazines and as a UI/UX designer at a series of startups. Yu holds a bachelor’s degree in English literature and computer science and a master’s degree in public administration from Columbia University.
