Swinth is a technical research assistant in the Family Well-Being and Children’s Development policy area. She is currently working on two projects: (1) the Acelero Research Practice Partnership, a collaboration between Acelero Learning, Inc., a national Head Start provider, and MDRC documenting learning gains for Head Start students and identifying programmatic and family conditions that predict gains in child outcomes across time and (2) the Child First study, a randomized controlled trial of a comprehensive, home-based, therapeutic intervention that targets young children and families with multiple risks and connects them with the services they need to support healthy child development. Before joining MDRC in 2022, Swinth worked with a San Francisco-based nonprofit, The Food as Medicine Collaborative. She interned with the racial and social justice organizing group Unite Oregon in her hometown of Portland. She also volunteered as a health educator at high schools in the Bay Area. Swinth graduated with a bachelor’s degree in human biology from Stanford University.
