Pinney is a technical research associate in the Center for Data Insights. She focuses on longitudinal, system analysis and networked data projects. Before joining MDRC, she worked at the New York City Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice, where she led data analysis and research for court reform and community-level gun violence intervention initiatives. She also worked at the Center for Neighborhood Engaged Research and Science at Northwestern University, where she analyzed the proliferation of police misconduct and violence via friendship networks for a paper accepted at the American Sociological Review. Olivia holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Amherst College and a master’s degree in computational analysis and public policy from the University of Chicago.
