Weiss is Director of MDRC’s Human Resources Department. She serves as key advisor to leadership and provides strategic consultation on human resources (HR) issues and organizational planning. Weiss led a transformation of MDRC’s HR department to support the organizational goals and operating structure, including implementing new systems to automate and streamline the HR function, as well as reduce overall costs and revamp the performance management program to focus on talent differentiation and succession planning. Weiss is responsible for the management and oversight of all HR functions, including compensation, benefit planning, recruitment and retention, employee relations, performance management, leadership and employee development, HR compliance and risk management, and partnering with all areas of the organization to strengthen MDRC’s diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
Weiss brings many years of human resources experience from the financial services industry. Prior to MDRC, Weiss served as Senior Vice President and Director of Human Resources for Amalgamated Bank for 18 years. In this role, Weiss was responsible for partnering with executive management on driving cultural change during periods of significant organizational restructures, while transforming the human resources function. She created the recruitment, training and development, compensation, and benefit functions along with cultivating the relationship with the union representing the collectively bargained staff. Prior experience includes serving as a Human Resources Manager for American International Group and Recruitment Manager for Chemical Bank.
Weiss holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Human Resources and Organizational Planning. She is an active member of the Society of Human Resources Management.
