For over 16 years, Welbeck has worked at the intersection of research, equity, and culture at MDRC. In her current role, Welbeck is leading the organization’s efforts to build stronger community by establishing actionable ways for staff to embody the values of mutual respect, inclusivity, and collegiality in how colleagues work together. To that end, Welbeck is developing and operationalizing systems that will transform conflicts and remedy any harms to heal relationships and bolster team morale. Additionally, she is committed to cultivating a culture of psychological safety, where all colleagues feel secure in taking creative risks and fostering innovation. The overarching vision behind these endeavors is to ensure that colleagues experience a greater sense of value and belonging within MDRC.
Welbeck earned a master’s degree in urban policy and management from The New School’s Milano School of Policy, Management, and Environment with a concentration in social policy. She earned her bachelor’s degree at Georgetown University in international politics with a focus on trans-state actors and crisis management.
