Behrmann has more than 15 years of experience in the implementation of large-scale research studies. Currently, she is focused on leading the implementation of and technical assistance for Testing Identified Elements for Success in Fatherhood Programs (Fatherhood TIES), a federally funded study that seeks first to identify and then rigorously test in practice elements of fatherhood programs that are believed to lead to improved participant outcomes. Previously, she worked on the Strengthening the Implementation of Responsible Fatherhood Programs (SIRF) and Building Bridges and Bonds (B3) fatherhood projects, and two large-scale national evaluations that include some of the most promising models serving pregnant women, new mothers, and their infants, the Mother and Infant Home Visiting Program Evaluation (MIHOPE) and MIHOPE-Strong Start. Before joining MDRC and turning her focus to domestic policy, Behrmann spent approximately five years working on developing, implementing, and managing international impact evaluations. She served in several capacities with Innovations for Poverty Action, including as the Philippines Country Director. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Connecticut College and a master’s degree in international affairs from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA).
