
Sharon Huang is an expert in early childhood education whose work is dedicated to improving programs and services for educators, families, and children. With more than 20 years of experience, Huang has partnered with early childhood providers, state and local leaders, and policymakers to implement large-scale studies and use data to drive continuous quality improvement across a variety of early childhood settings.
Most recently, she has led efforts across six states to pilot innovative child assessment tools designed to measure young children’s skill development, and she has also led field work for a national study of more than 100 early childhood programs. Huang frequently speaks at national conferences and webinars in an effort to ensure that research translates into practice and reaches the settings where it can have the greatest impact on young children’s development.
Before joining MDRC, Huang was director of early childhood programs at the Families and Work Institute, where she oversaw the development and implementation of a national initiative to share the science of early learning with families and educators. She holds a law degree from New York University and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Columbia University.
