On behalf of the Board and staff of MDRC, I want to express our sadness on the passing of Alan Krueger. Alan was a brilliant economist, policymaker, and teacher who exemplified how bringing together strong research, a real-world understanding of how government works, and a deep sense of humanity can create better polices that improve the lives of individuals and families, especially the most disadvantaged. The many contributions of his three-decade career will leave a lasting legacy.
