Cuyahoga Community College's Efforts to Retain and Graduate Students Working, Report Says

CLEVELAND, Ohio - A Cuyahoga Community College program that requires students to enroll full time and receive comprehensive financial, academic, and support services has boosted academic achievement.
The program, and similar ones at Lorain County Community College and Cincinnati State Technical and Community College, are versions of the Accelerated Study in Associate Programs developed in 2007 by the City University of New York.
The New York program nearly doubled the three-year graduation rate for low-income community college students with developmental needs.
Early results from the Ohio pilot programs show increases in enrollment and credit accumulation during the first semester and persistence in the second semester for similar students, according to findings released Wednesday by MDRC, a nonprofit, nonpartisan research organization.....
