MDRC Reaches Collective Bargaining Agreement with AFSCME/SPWU, MDRC’s Staff Union
MDRC is pleased that its staff union, Social Policy Workers United (SPWU), which is affiliated with Local 57 of the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), has voted to ratify a collective bargaining agreement, the result of more than two years of negotiations. In addition to guaranteed annual salary increases for our staff with protections against inflation, the agreement codifies our hybrid-first flexible work policies that help employees thrive in their work and family lives and enhances our professional development and leave benefits.
“We are thrilled to have reached this comprehensive agreement with AFSCME/SPWU, which is an important milestone in MDRC’s 50-year history,” said MDRC President Virginia Knox. “MDRC’s staff members are truly the key to its success. I look forward to working with AFSCME/SPWU — and all MDRC’s employees — to continue to create the equitable and inclusive workplace we all aspire to and to fulfill MDRC’s mission of using evidence to improve policies and programs that serve people with low incomes.”
