Interim findings from MDRC’s evalution of Grameen America’s microfinance model show reduced material hardship and an increase in credit scores and business ownership. The program boosted business earnings but has had no effect so far on overall net income. It also improved participants’ feelings of overall financial well-being.
MDRC released new evaluation results today showing that New York City’s pretrial Supervised Release program reduces cash bail and pretrial detention, maintains rates of court appearances, increases the proportion of criminal cases that are dismissed, and does not increase arrests for new crimes.
