Utterback has nearly 10 years of experience in workforce development research and technical assistance, specializing in process improvement, qualitative interviews and focus groups, and human-centered design. As a research associate, Utterback leads qualitative research and participant voice for MemWorks, a partnership between MDRC and Slingshot Memphis to ignite systems change for greater economic mobility in Memphis. Utterback also serves as a site lead for the Economic Mobility Lab, guiding sectoral training programs to design and test evidence-based pilots to improve service quality or improve participant outcomes. Utterback is committed to advancing practical, data-driven solutions that support greater economic opportunity and equity. Utterback holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
