Application Deadline Extended to January 31 for Summer 2025 Doctoral Fellowships in the MDRC Gueron Scholars Program
In collaboration with The Policy Academies, MDRC is offering two doctoral fellowships in the summer of 2025 as part of its Gueron Scholars Program. The fellowships are for Ph.D. candidates who are pursuing independent, self-directed research on economic and social problems affecting Americans with low incomes.
Recipients, who will receive $10,000 stipends, will work on their doctoral dissertations—and will participate in the intellectual life of MDRC by attending seminars and project meetings and by working with MDRC research staff.
The fellowships are supported by the Gueron Scholars Program, which seeks to engage and encourage individuals from groups that are underrepresented in the education and social policy research communities. Applications are open to all interested students.
The fellowships are expected to begin in June 2025. MDRC is pleased to provide housing for all fellows. Applicants invited to interview virtually will receive more information about this opportunity.
We are accepting applications for all five MDRC policy areas—(1) K-12 Education; (2) Postsecondary Education; (3) Family Well-Being and Children’s Development; (4) Economic Mobility, Housing, and Communities; and (5) Youth Development, Criminal Justice, and Employment—and especially encourage applicants in the latter three domains.
To apply, follow the instructions in this description.
The application deadline for the fellowships has been extended to Friday, January 31, 2025.
